L'Ishihara Test Album – 38 plates is designed to detect color vision deficiencies, particularly in subjects who confuse the red and the GreenThis test exploits the peculiarity that colors blue and yellow appear more vivid for these individuals.
Structure of the boards
- Plank 1 : Initiation board, readable by all, displaying the number 12.
- Boards 2 to 5 : Test for confusion red-green, revealing different figures for dichromats.
- Boards 6 to 9 : Similar to the previous ones, with a different background.
- Boards 10 to 13 : Based on confusion blue-green-orange, invisible to colorblind people.
- Boards 14 to 17 : Close to plates 6 to 9, with a modified background, invisible to colorblind people.
- Boards 18 to 21 : Designed so that dichromats can perceive numbers, unlike normal subjects.
- Boards 22 to 25 : Identify the protanopia or the deuteranopia.
Terms of Use
- Boards 1 to 25 : Must be recognized in 3 seconds maximum.
- Boards 26 to 38 : Used for subjects who do not know numbers, with a winding path to follow in 10 seconds.
- Simplified screening: Possible with only 6 boards to identify normal vision or dyschromatopsia.
- Flexibility: The order of the boards can be changed to counter the simulators.

L'Ishihara Test Album – 38 plates is used to screen for color vision abnormalities, particularly in medical or occupational settings. If there is any hesitation during the simplified test, a full examination is recommended.
